Shop the Look: How to Turn Our Room Photos Into Your Own Finished Room
By Daniela Castillo, Client Experience Lead at SoBe Furniture
Most rooms do not go wrong because someone picked a bad sofa. They go wrong because the sofa was picked alone. A client falls for a sectional, takes it home to a Boca Raton condo, and then spends six months guessing at the coffee table, the rug and the art. Each piece is chosen on a different weekend, under different light, in a different mood, and the room ends up looking like a collection of good decisions that never met each other.
The opposite problem is just as common. Someone saves forty photos of finished rooms from magazines and social media, but none of them say what the pieces are, what they cost, or whether they would fit a 14-foot living room in Delray Beach. Inspiration without information is not a plan. In South Florida, where so many of our clients are furnishing a new place before season, decorating a second home in Highland Beach, or redoing a house in Parkland after the kids move out, that gap costs real time.
That is why we built the new Shop the Look page. It shows twelve rooms we photographed with real SoBe Furniture pieces, and every piece in the photo is labeled, priced and one tap away. Here is how to use it as a starting point, and how to turn a look you like into a room that actually fits your home.
How the Shop the Look Page Works
The page holds twelve photographed rooms: four dining rooms, four living rooms, three bedrooms and one outdoor patio. Each photo has small dots placed on the furniture. Tap a dot on your phone, or click it on a computer, and a card opens with the name of that piece and its price. From the card you can add the piece to your cart or open the full product page to see sizes, finishes and dimensions.
You do not have to scroll through all twelve rooms to find what you need. The page has jump links that take you straight to each room type: dining, living, bedroom and outdoor. Each look also has a short note on why the pieces work together, so you can keep the idea even if you change the pieces.
The Five Rules That Turn a Photographed Room Into Your Room
A photo is a finished answer to someone else's room. These five rules are how our design team adapts a look to the floor plan, light and life of the person standing in front of us.
1. Find the anchor piece and keep it
Every look has one piece that sets the tone. In a living room it is usually the sectional; in a dining room it is the table; in a bedroom it is the bed. Decide which piece made you stop scrolling, and treat that as the one thing you are not willing to change. Everything else in the photo is a suggestion that supports it.
2. Measure before you fall in love
Measure the wall the anchor piece will sit against, the walkways around it, and the doorways and elevator it has to travel through. A five-piece sectional that looks relaxed in a large photographed room can swallow a condo living room in Boca Raton. Write the numbers down and photograph the room from each corner.
3. Swap sizes, keep the proportions
If the exact size does not fit, look for the same idea at a different scale. A long extension table can become a smaller version of the same mood; a large coffee table can drop down a size. Several pieces on the page come in more than one size, so open the product page before you assume a look will not work in your space. What matters is the relationship between pieces: the coffee table roughly two-thirds the length of the sofa, the rug large enough that front legs sit on it, the art sized to the furniture below it.
4. Change finishes, keep the palette logic
You may love the shape of a look but not its colors. That is fine. Notice how the palette is built instead: one dominant tone, one contrast, one natural material. A walnut and stone room can become an oak and ivory room if you keep that same structure. Swapping a leather color or a wood finish is one of the most common changes we make with clients.
5. Finish the room in layers
Furniture first, then the rug, then art and mirrors, then pillows and objects. Several looks already show those layers, a shortcut for the part most people leave unfinished for months.
A Tour of the Twelve Looks
Dining: four tables, four ways to gather
Look 01 is a round room built around the 55-inch Nerina table, with a charcoal Italian ceramic top on three black steel blade legs, Nara leather armchairs and the travertine Piedra buffet. Round tables are a favorite for condos in Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale, where the dining area often doubles as a walkway. Look 02 pairs the Totem walnut and ceramic table, which seats six at 71 inches and opens to 103 inches for up to twelve, with Kaya leather chairs. Look 03 is for big families: the Ravenna table extends from 95 to 142 inches, with Carrara swivel chairs and the matching Ravenna buffet. The Ravenna table is from $5,899. Look 04 adds art to the dining room: the Moon table, a white marbled ceramic top on a fluted walnut pedestal that opens from 71 to 103 inches, with Nara leather armchairs in Mink, a black and white herringbone cowhide rug, hand-painted line art and the high gloss white Cecilia buffet.
Living: four rooms built around the sofa
Look 05 centers on the Skyline modular sectional with a long chaise and lifting headrests, plus the Nexus walnut coffee table, whose top rotates to open from 31 to 47 inches. Look 06 wraps a corner in the five-piece Ambasciatore II sectional in top grain Italian leather, with art, a floor mirror and a striped cowhide rug finishing the room. Look 07, pictured above, is built on the Boca II sectional, from $11,999, with three power reclining seats and power headrests, an Amalfi travertine coffee table, the hand-knotted Venato rug and the Ramo pair of hand-painted canvases. Look 08 pairs the same three pieces with the Coastal Oak wall unit, custom built to fit your wall.
Bedroom: from quiet walnut to a wall-to-wall headboard
Look 09 is about storage: Loft nightstands and the long Loft dresser, made by hand in solid wood with brushed steel legs, and customizable in finish and size. Look 10 features the SoBe Grand bed, from $5,499, whose padded headboard runs past the nightstands for a wall-to-wall look; it is made by hand in the USA and can be built in any size. Look 11 pairs the grid-tufted Atelier bed in soft cream with Halston fluted oak case pieces.
Outdoor: the Wave collection
Look 12 is a covered patio with the Wave sofa, two swivel lounge chairs and the Wave coffee table, in mocha aluminum and teak wrapped in latte rope. One important note: Wave pieces are made to order and are not kept at our Boca Raton showroom. You are welcome to see them at our Miami warehouse by appointment, and our team in Boca can help you plan the set and place the order.
Adapting a Look to Your Kind of Home
Condos and high-rises
In a condo on the water in Highland Beach or near Mizner Park, the challenge is usually width, not height. Start with the round dining look, or a living look where the sectional configuration can be changed. Confirm elevator and hallway dimensions before ordering anything large, and keep the rug and art from the look, since they carry the mood without taking up floor space.
New construction
New homes in Boca Bridges, Lotus and the newer communities west of Boca Raton tend to have big great rooms with tall ceilings. Here the risk is going too small. A large sectional, a generous coffee table and a big rug are the right scale. The Ravenna dining look and the SoBe Grand bedroom look were made for these rooms.
Established homes
In an older home in Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club or a ranch house in Weston, you are often working around existing floors, built-ins and a piece or two you are keeping. Use the look as a palette guide. If you have warm wood floors, lean toward the walnut looks; if you have cool stone or white tile, the stone and gray leather looks will sit more naturally.
Why Your Screenshot Belongs in the Showroom
The Shop the Look page is a great place to start, but a photo cannot tell you how a sectional feels after twenty minutes, how deep a seat is for your height, or how a leather reads under your own light. That is what the showroom is for. Much of our furniture collection is on the floor in Boca Raton, so you can sit-test sofas and sectionals, feel the leather, and stand next to a bed to judge its scale. Call ahead if you want to check that a specific piece is on the floor.
The best visits start with three things: a screenshot of the look you like, your room measurements, and a few photos of the space. With those in hand, our design team on the floor can help you keep the anchor piece, adjust sizes and finishes, and choose the rug, art, mirror and pillows to go with the furniture you are testing. Our growing rug and decor collection is online, so we will walk you through those pieces on screen next to the real furniture. If you want to see a particular rug or piece of art, call ahead and we will tell you what we can show you.
If you would rather get a head start, send your photos and measurements through our contact page before you come in. Financing is available, and you can schedule white-glove delivery at the desk before you leave. Inside the tri-county area, white-glove delivery is the greater of $120 or 3% of the merchandise total.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Shop the Look page on the SoBe Furniture website?
It is a page with twelve rooms we photographed using our own furniture: four dining rooms, four living rooms, three bedrooms and one outdoor patio. Do I have to buy every piece in a look?
No. Most clients keep one anchor piece, such as the sectional, table or bed, and adjust the rest. Our design team can help you swap sizes and finishes or find pieces that fit your room better while keeping the feel of the look.
Where can I buy modern furniture for a whole room in Boca Raton?
SoBe Furniture at 6599 N Federal Highway in Boca Raton carries premium modern sofas, sectionals, dining sets, beds and decor. Bring your measurements and a screenshot of a look, and our design team can help you plan the furniture, rug, art and pillows in one visit.
