SoBe's team delivers, places, assembles, levels and anchors the unit and removes all packaging; your electrician is coordinated if anything needs hardwiring.
What is measured at your home, and why
- Wall width at several heights: walls are rarely square, and the unit is built wall-to-wall or to a set reveal.
- Ceiling height, soffits and crown: whether a full-height design like the Marquise Grand fits.
- TV size and seated viewing height: so the alcove is cut to your television at the right height.
- Fireplace insert model, size and clearances: the surround and the alcove above are built around it.
- Outlets, switches, vents and returns: kept accessible or relocated through your electrician first.
- Baseboards and floor level: so the base sits flat and flush.
- Door swings, windows and adjacent openings: so nothing is blocked.
- Finishes it will sit against: flooring, cabinet color and wall paint, matched or contrasted on purpose.

- Wall size and height: a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall composition uses more material than a standard or narrow wall.
- Materials: wood species and finish, stone or porcelain panels and columns, high-gloss lacquer.
- Closed storage versus open shelving: doors and drawers versus open display bays.
- Integrated lighting: shelf, niche, puck and floating base lighting.
- Fireplace or TV alcove: whether an insert, an alcove or both are built in.

Every unit is built to the measurements taken at your home, starting from one of nine signature designs or from your own brief.
Can you build a wall unit around my existing fireplace or TV?
Yes. The design is drawn around what is already on the wall: the TV, an existing fireplace opening, outlets, vents, windows and doors. If a fireplace is being added, the linear electric insert is chosen first so the alcove, surround and clearances are built to it. The TV alcove is sized to your television.
Do you measure my home before building?
Yes. Final measurements are taken at your home before anything is fabricated: wall width at several heights, ceiling height and soffits, baseboards, the TV and any fireplace insert, and the position of outlets, switches, vents, windows and doors. The design consultation itself takes place at the Boca Raton showroom.
What materials can a custom wall unit be made in?
Natural, lightly oiled, cerused or fumed oak, American black walnut and dark walnut; high-gloss white lacquer and matte painted or charcoal panels; stone, travertine or marble panels and columns; ledger stone or porcelain TV backdrops; brushed brass hardware; warm LED shelf lighting and puck lights; and linear electric fireplace inserts.
Do you install the wall unit, and what does delivery cost?
Yes. Every custom wall unit is delivered and installed by SoBe's white-glove team: placement, assembly, leveling, wall anchoring and packaging removed. White-glove delivery and installation within Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties is the greater of $120 or 3% of the merchandise total; outside South Florida, delivery is quoted through a third-party delivery service.
Can a wall unit hide cables, cable boxes and other equipment?
Yes. The TV bay has built-in cable management, closed lower storage with push-to-open or bar-pull doors holds cable boxes and audio equipment, and a soundbar space can be built below the TV.
Can it match my kitchen cabinets, floors or existing furniture?
Yes. Finishes are chosen from samples at the Boca Raton showroom, so bring a cabinet door, a flooring sample or a paint chip. Wood, lacquer and stone options are compared against your samples in person, and the design is drawn so the wall unit either sits quietly with what you already have or deliberately contrasts with it.
Do I need an electrician?
Only when something needs hardwiring. Integrated LED lighting, puck lights and linear electric fireplace inserts may need a dedicated outlet or a hardwired connection; SoBe coordinates location and timing with your electrician so power is in place before installation. Existing outlets and switches are noted at the on-site measurement.
Can I see a custom wall unit before I order one?
Yes. The Boca Raton showroom at 6599 N Federal Hwy keeps finished wall units on the floor with wood, lacquer and stone samples. It is open Monday to Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM, with free on-site parking and a wheelchair-accessible entrance.
