Bloom Trays
Description
Bloom is a serving tray built from a 5mm mocha aluminum frame fitted with FSC teak slats. The slatted top gives it the warm, linear look of a teak deck, set against the soft brown of the mocha frame. It reads as part of the outdoor room rather than something borrowed from the kitchen.
The tray comes in two shapes. The rectangular version is 19 inches wide and carries a full round of drinks and a couple of small bowls across a sectional or a dining table. The round version, built with 12mm teak slats, is more compact and sits well centered on a coffee table or an ottoman, where it keeps glasses off the cushions and gives the surface a defined center. Both stand 2 inches tall, low enough to pass across a table without blocking the conversation.
Aluminum does not rust, so the frame takes salt air and humidity without the corrosion steel would show. The teak slats can be left alone to weather to a soft silver-grey, or kept closer to their original honey tone with regular teak cleaning and oiling. After an afternoon storm, a wipe down and a few minutes in the sun is all it needs.
