Tolo Sofa
Description
The Tolo Sofa is a three seater built around a rope wrapped frame, with a deep seat upholstered in light grey fabric and a backrest worked in light grey olefin rope. The rope softens the long horizontal line of the frame, so a piece at this scale still reads relaxed rather than heavy. Two 50 x 50 cm cushions and two 60 x 60 cm cushions come with it.
Two finishes are offered. The mocha version sets a mocha aluminum frame against latte olefin rope, and the teak version pairs teak wood with beige olefin rope and Sunproof fabric upholstery. At 93 inches wide and 51 inches deep this is a main seating piece rather than a filler, deep enough to sit sideways with your legs up instead of perched on the edge. The backrest adjusts, so the same sofa works upright for conversation on a covered terrace and reclined for an afternoon by the pool.
Both versions are made for the way South Florida actually treats outdoor furniture. The aluminum frame will not rust in salt air, and olefin rope is built to hold its color under strong sun and shed water quickly after an afternoon storm. Teak weathers to a soft silver gray if you leave it untreated, or keeps its warmer tone with occasional oiling.
