Costa Coffee Tables
Description
Costa is a low outdoor coffee table built from aluminum in a warm Mocha finish, offered either as all aluminum or with an FSC teak top. The lines are horizontal and quiet, so the table sits below the eye when you are seated and never competes with the seating around it. It is a restrained piece that works in a modern outdoor room without calling attention to itself.
The choice is between two quite different tables. The Mocha version is narrow and low, closer to a long, slim surface in footprint, and works pulled in front of a pair of lounge chairs or run alongside a chaise. The Mocha and teak version is considerably wider and deeper, enough to anchor a full sectional, and the teak top gives a warmer surface for trays, books and drinks. Either one suits a covered lanai, a pool deck or a terrace where you want a usable surface without visual bulk.
Aluminum does not rust, which matters a few miles from the water where salt air gets into everything. The teak top will weather from its original honey tone to a soft silver grey if you leave it untreated, or you can keep the warmer color with periodic teak oil. After an afternoon storm, wipe the surfaces down, and rinse the salt off now and then if the table lives near the ocean.
