Tolo Coffee Table
Description
The Tolo Coffee Table is a long, low table built for an outdoor room that gets used daily. It comes two ways: a mocha aluminum frame with a beige ceramic top, or a version in FSC teak wood. Either one keeps a clean horizontal line that anchors a seating group without visually crowding it.
At 71 inches wide, it has the length to sit in front of a full sectional or between two facing sofas, with surface left over for trays, drinks and a stack of books. The 15 inch height falls below a typical seat cushion, so it stays within easy reach from a deep lounge chair. The choice between finishes is mostly one of temperature: the mocha frame and beige ceramic top read cool and contemporary, while the teak brings warmth and a visible grain.
South Florida weather is the real test. Aluminum does not rust, and a ceramic top holds its color through long hours of direct sun. Teak takes humidity and salt air in stride and will weather to a soft silver gray outdoors, or keep more of its honey tone if you oil it from time to time.
