Tolo Barstool
Description
The Tolo Barstool is built on a slim mocha aluminum frame wrapped in 6mm latte olefin rope, which gives the piece its texture and softens the metal underneath. The two tones sit close together, so the stool reads as one quiet shape rather than a frame with something stretched over it. The seat is cushioned in sunproof fabric over quick dry foam.
At 44 inches tall with a 31 inch seat height, Tolo is sized for a standard bar counter: a summer kitchen island, a poolside bar, or a long counter under a covered terrace. It stays compact at 23 inches wide, so three or four will line up along an island without crowding each other or the walkway behind them. The 44 inch overall height leaves real support above the seat, which makes it a stool people stay on through dinner rather than perch on for one drink. Tolo comes in the mocha frame with latte rope.
Aluminum does not rust, which counts for a lot within reach of salt air. Olefin rope holds its color in strong sun and sheds water quickly, and the quick dry foam in the cushion clears an afternoon downpour the same way. A rinse with fresh water now and then is most of the upkeep, and the cushion is easy to bring in when you are away.
